The Centro de Intercambios Escolares is an agency of the Education Department of the Madrid Regional Government in charge of organizing short-term exchanges and educational stays in the Madrid region.
Spanish is the only official language of our organization and although we will do our best, we cannot guarantee that we'll be able to deal with your enquiries in other languages. Furthermore, most of the students that take part in our programmes are studying Spanish and we expect at least one of the teachers to speak Spanish fluently.
All our programmes (you can see some examples here) are aimed exclusively at groups of students and only officially recognised schools can apply. Exchanges and stays last about a week; they are educational programmes, not just tourism.
In exchanges, students typically stay with families from the host school, but they might also stay at our hostel (which holds up to 50 students and five teachers).
If you want to take part in our exchange programme for foreign schools, you might be interested in this link (pdf, in Spanish). Please notice the 24th April, 2015 deadline! After it we can still try to find a partner for you, but it will be much more difficult.
For educational stays in our hostel, please read this (pdf, Spanish). Note that there is no deadline, but if you'd like to choose a date you might want to be quick!
For more information, please call or email us. We will do our best, but we cannot promise to answer in English or any other language,so please try to do it in Spanish!
