C.P. DULCINEA SCHOOL
OUR
CITY
Dulcinea
School is situated in Alcalá de Henares. Alcalá lies 30 Km. Away from
Madrid City. Alcalá is a major administrative and industrial centre with
190.000 inhabitants. Alcalá has fast and frequent bus and rail links with
Madrid.
Alcalá
was one of the sites favoured by the Roman Empire. The Romans called it
Complutum. In the wake of imperial decline, the town came under the Muslim
empire. Indeed its present name, Alcalá, is an Arabic term which
translates roughly as “castle”.
The
University of Alcalá was founded in 1499 as a centre of “General
Studies”, and thus Alcalá became the most important intellectual centre
of its time.
The
large part of the inhabitans work in industry and staff universities,
schools, hospitals, banks, etc.
Migration
to Alcalá, mainly from South America, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and
Morocco has been massive in recent years.

year related to the environment, computer studies, the 400th anniversary
of D. Quijote, English culture and language, etc.
WORKS
IN PROGRESS
We
would like to establish a system of pen friends, and video long-distance
conferencing. We would also like to exchange materials between the two
